Tata Docomo Chooses Actor Vijay as Their Brand Ambassador

 

 

Tata Docomo has chosen Tamil actor Vijay as their new brand ambassador for a period of 1 year. He would be endorsing the products and services of Tata DOCOMO in Tamil Nadu.

Tata Docomo has currently launched new Double talk time plan for CDMA prepaid customers and Full talk time plan for GSM prepaid customers for this festive season. Double talk time plan on CDMA would offer double talk time on select recharges on or above Rs 10 that include Rs 10/20/25/50/100/110/150/200 denominations.

Full talk time plan on GSM would offer full talk time on all recharges on or above Rs 10. New customers will have to recharge with Rs 41 wherein existing customers will have to recharge with Rs 39 to avail the Full talk time plan.

Gautham Vasudev Menon is doing four projects at a time�- 'Neethane En Ponvasantham', which he is simultaneously making in three languages (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi), and the Hindi remake of 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya', titled 'Ek Dhivana Dha'.

After completing these films, he will move on to 'Yohan Adhyayam Ondru', his first venture with Vijay. "Some rumour mills have it that Gautham is toying with the idea of coming out with a movie every two years in this series, like Yohan Adhyayam Irandu and Yohan Adhyayam Moondru but the director has remained tight-lipped about these.

"Vijay plays an international agent in this flick," Gautham says and adds: "Yohan Adhyayam Ondru will deal with one of the assignments he does in a foreign country. It will chronicle two months of the protagonist's life."

On what made him to join hands with the Ilayathalapathy, Gautham says, "We both wanted to work together for a long time, but things didn't take shape.� This time we were sure not to miss the opportunity and made an announcement on Yohan."

Vijay's latest offering Velayudham is flooded with positive reviews all over the world.There were not much of hype for the movie and lost most of the screens to other two diwali release. But, now with all the positive reviews from global audience, the producers are under pressure to add more screens. Velayudham will now get 500 more screens worldwide.Velayudham is directed by M Raja, who has proved himself as a commercial director.Recently, Vijay had arranged a Velayudham success meet where he said that all his future ventures will have different scripts and expressed his desire to work with all leading directors in future.

Is there a proven, time tested formula for making blockbuster movies? That would make all our lives easier. But unfortunately there isn't. Directors who have stuck to one rule have always struck gold. The movie must entertain. That is the critical and most cardinal criteria. Everything else comes second. Whether it is commercial or realistic cinema, the entire package has to be delivered with a style that keeps the audience engaged from title to end credits.

Going by the trend of 2011, the movies that have clicked have been great entertainers. Most first time directors seem to remember this. That is why we had Engeyum Eppothum, a sleeper hit, directed by Saravanan which kept us engrossed in the lives of four innocent victims falling prey to fate. Kumararaja scripted Aaranya Kaandam as a drug deal gone wrong but the events were strung so taut that we couldn't look away even for a moment. Azhagarsaamiyin Kudhirai weaved a tale with Appukutty and his equestrian love. It was fresh and appealing. All three movies did not have star power. They banked completely on the script and story to pave their way to success. And they succeeded with aplomb.

But even movies with star power reigned high. Aadukalam is Dhanush's finest performance till date. But Dhanush's Mappillai was a disaster. Even he is aware that his presence alone does not guarantee a hit. Vettrimaran's screenplay was so perfect that all the actors had to merely enact the lines. They added meat to their role by perfecting their portrayals. Deiva Thirumagal landed in Vikram's lap and he leaped beyond his boundaries with his stellar performance. Yudham Sei, a crime thriller, had Cheran with a two line script. But if anybody can direct a thriller, Myskin can too.

These two sets prove that one does not need a proven actor or a huge star to make a super hit movie. As long as the actor can play his role to perfection and the story keeps the audience engaged, the director will deliver.

To illustrate this further we saw Engeyum Kaadhal, a romantic interlude set in Paris, crash. The location was poetic but the storyline was weak. The actors seem to jump in and out of scenes and the comedy was forgettable. Nootrenbadhu, a debut attempt by Jayendra left without making any impact. The visuals were stunning in both movies, the former strolled through the street of Paris and the latter sailed from Chennai to San Francisco. But that was not enough. Even a seasoned director like Bala could not make Avan Ivan shatter records. Bala's movies are a class apart. Even if it is about a grave digger we watch the movie for the perfectionist he is. He interlaces a heavy storyline with superb humor but even he couldn't work his magic with Avan Ivan.

If established directors can fail, new comers can deliver hits, what is it that keeps the pulse of the movie under check? Do all directors have to be good writers? KV Anand seems to agree, which is why he left the scripting of KO to Subha. The movie defied box office records and the twists and turns ensured repeat audiences. The songs added power to this blockbuster.

With the way 2011 is hurtling, there are surprise hits, sleeper hits and blockbusters. It seems to come from places we least expect. Diwali saw the release of two big stars – Vijay and Suriya. While Vijay plays the villager turned vigilante, Suriya delves into the roots of Bodhidharma. Which will click? Both have star power and seasoned directors. Velyutham's songs are chartbusters but 7aum Arivu brings a sense of déjà vu which doesn't sit well with avid listeners.

Vijay promises a commercial pot boiler which suits the festive mood while Suriya is food for thought. But the one that breaks records will be the one that entertains the most. Audiences want charming romance, rib tickling comedy, jaw dropping stunts and an engaging story line. Velayutham seems to be the perfect match and that is going to be my ticket for this Diwali. Bodhidharmar has to wait for another day.

வேலாயுதத்தில் சிக்ஸ் பேக்கா ? : விஜய் பதில்

 

 

விஜய், ஜெனிலியா, ஹன்சிகா நடிப்பில் ஜெயம் ராஜா இயக்கத்தில் வெளிவந்து இருக்கும் படம் ' வேலாயுதம் ', ஆஸ்கார் ரவிச்சந்திரன் தயாரிக்க விஜய் ஆண்டனி இசையமைத்து இருக்கிறார்.

இப்படம் குறித்து நடிகர் விஜய்யின் பத்திரிகையாளர் சந்திப்பு நேற்று ( அக்டோபர் 28 ) சென்னையில் நடைபெற்றது. அப்பத்திரிகையாளர் சந்திப்பில் விஜய் பேசியது :

' வேலாயுதம் ' திரைப்படம் உலகம் எங்கிலும் மாபெரும் வரவேற்பை பெற்று இருக்கிறது. படம் பார்க்கும் அனைவருமே சந்தோஷப்படும் வகையில் அமைந்து இருக்கிறது.

படத்தின் தயாரிப்பாளர் ஆஸ்கார் ரவிச்சந்திரன் என்னிடம் 'படம் கண்டிப்பாக பெரிய வெற்றி பெறும்' என்று கூறினார். அவர் கூறியது போலவே படமும் அமைந்து இருப்பது பெரும் மகிழ்ச்சி அளிக்கிறது.

' வேலாயுதம் ' படத்தின் க்ளைமாக்ஸ் காட்சியில் 6 பேக்கா என்று கேட்கிறார்கள்.அது எல்லாம் இல்லை. சிங்கிள் பேக் தான். இயக்குனர் கேட்டு கொண்டதற்கு இணங்க சட்டை இல்லாமல் நடித்தேன் அவ்வளவு தான்.

படத்தின் மொத்த கலெக்ஷன் ரிப்போட் இன்னும் ஒரு வாரத்தில் தயாரிப்பாளர் தரப்பில் இருந்து வெளியிடப்படும். இரண்டாம் வாரத்தில் இன்னும் அதிக திரையரங்குகளில் படத்தினை திரையிட இருக்கிறோம்.

' வேலாயுதம் ' படத்தினை தொடர்ந்து ஷங்கர் சார் இயக்கத்தில் ' நண்பன் ' வெளிவர இருக்கிறது. அப்படம் முற்றிலும் வித்தியாசமான படம். முழுப்படமும் அனைவரையும் சிரிக்க வைக்கும். ஷங்கர் சார் ஒரு பிரம்மாண்டமான இயக்குனர்.

அடுத்ததாக ஏ.ஆர்.முருகதாஸ் இயக்கத்தில் நடிக்க இருக்கிறேன். படத்தின் தயாரிப்பாளர் விரைவில் அதற்கான அறிவிப்பை வெளியிடுவார்.

ஒரே மாதிரி கதைகளில் நடிக்கிறீர்களே என்று கேட்கிறார்கள். ஏன்.. வேலாயுதம் படத்திற்கு முன்பு வெளிவந்த 'காவலன்' படம் வித்தியாசமான கதைக்களம் தானே. அப்படத்தில் குத்துப்பாடல் மற்றும் சண்டைக்காட்சிகள் இல்லையே."

In spite of other big releases, producer Aascar Ravichandran managed to get bigger and more screens across Tamil Nadu and other areas for his Diwali release 'Velayutham'. Released on October 25, the film has lived up to the expectations of not just Vijay fans, but has attracted the family audiences.
With a longer weekend still going on, the theatre owners and exhibitors have demanded for additional prints of the film. Across the states of Kerala and Karnataka, the fans circle for Vijay has increased than the usual limits. The repeat audiences in Kerala are rushing into the theatres to watch it again and again.

Well, it's worth mentioning that Kerala audiences have welcomed even his films like 'Sura' and 'Velayutham' has become a huge hit over there.

Whenever Diwali sets in Tamil Nadu, the trumpets are blown setting the battle field as to which superstar racks in the moolah. This time around with "Ra One" also hitting the screens, it inevitably meant only Vijay & Suriya will be slugging it out for the honours. After the stupendous success of "Kaavalan", Vijay seems to have got his sagging career graph back on track with a handful of interesting projects. First among them is "Velayudham", which has been promoted as a mass masala flick. The question now is whether it's the same old stuff in a newer poster???

 

 

Terrorism seems to be gripping the nation like never before & has been extending its tentacles on South India with renewed vigour. This is the very content that the film touches upon with Bharati (Genelia), a free lance promising journalist who tries to expose the nexus the between the Home Minister & the terrorists. But unfortunately, her efforts were to of no avail which eventually leads to the death of her colleagues. This incident inspires her to create a fictional character "Velayudham", who is portrayed as a crusader against injustice. Incidentally, a person named Velayudham (Vijay), who is a doting brother happens to land up in Chennai at the same time to make arrangements for his sister, Kaveri's (Saranya Mohan) wedding. But destiny had different plans for him, as circumstances forces him to become the fictional crusader. So can he make a difference in this corrupt society???

 

 

M.Raja is one of the prominent names in Tamil industry, mainly for being the director who specialises in remakes with his brother Jayam Ravi being the star in all his previous ventures. This time around he has traversed the same path but changed the lead character as "Velayudham" is said to be inspired from Nagarjuna's "Azad" with the costume also an inspiration from "Assassin Creed". Anywaz, Raja has packed the flick with all the masala that would be lapped up by the masses be it Vijay's intro song, glamour gals or the super human action. Vijay Antony's music is another factor which draws the audience with Sonna Puriyadhu rendered by himself & Chillax by Karthik setting the tempo.

 

Coming to the performances, Vijay is back in his comfort zone & he gives a thumping performance be it dance,comedy or action sequences. Hansika Motwani as Vaidehi was an apt choice with her confidence & oomph factor. Saranya Mohan was at ease while Genelia also delivers the goods aptly. Santhanam, the present comedy sensation does manage to tickle the funny bone while Abhimanyu Singh didnt have much to do other than make good use of his vocal cords & flare his nostrils.

 

Verdict: Being the festive season, the masses will be looking forward to various genres of films on display & one such genre is the masala mix peppered with dance, action & glamour. Well "Velayudham" offers you just that & though it's the same old Vijay flick, this seemed much more enjoyable as opposed to "Kuruvi", "Sura" or "Villu". In short, this should rack in the cash & if at all you are into Vijay you may give it a try or else leave it!!!

விஜய் - கெளதம் மேனன் இருவரும் இணையும் படம் 'யோஹன் - அத்தியாயம் 1'. கெளதம் மேனனின் ஃபோட்டான் கதாஸ் நிறுவனம் தயாரிக்க இருக்கிறது. ஏ.ஆர்.ரஹ்மான் இசையமைக்க இருக்கிறார்.

 

இந்நிலையில் இப்படம் கூறித்து கெளதம் மேனன் " 'யோஹன் - முதல் அத்தியாயம்... படத்துக்கு ஏன் அந்த பெயர் ? ஸோ சிம்பிள்! எனக்கு விஜய்யோடு முதல் சந்திப்பு சரியா அமையலை. அடுத்த இரண்டு சந்திப்புகளில் நான் சொன்னது அவரோட எண்ணத்துக்கு எட்டலை. கடைசிச் சந்திப்பில் 'இந்தத் தடவை நான் உங்களை விடப்போறது இல்லை. இனி, மிஸ் பண்ணவே வேண்டாம்'னு அவரே சொன்னார்.

 

நானும் அவரை வெச்சுப் படம் பண்ண ரொம்ப ஆர்வமா இருந்தேன். 'யோஹன்' ஒரு இன்டர்நேஷனல் தமிழ்ப் படமாக இருக்கும். இதில் இன்டர்நேஷனல் ஏஜென்ட் ஆக வர்றார் விஜய். எனக்கும் விஜய்க்கும் இப்படி ஒரு படம் புதுசு. வெளிநாட்டு அசைன்மென்ட்டுக்குப் போன பிறகு, யோஹனின் இரண்டு மாத அனுபவங்கள்தான் முதல் அத்தியாயம்.

 

அடுத்து, ஒவ்வொரு இரண்டு வருஷத்துக்கும் அதன் அத்தியாயங்களை நீட்டிக்க ஆசை. யார் கண்டா... இது ஒரு சீரிஸாகக்கூட அமையலாம். இந்தப் படத்தின் ஆக்ஷன் விஜய்க்கு செம ஃபிட்டா இருக்கும். கதையைக் கேட்டதும் ரஹ்மான் ஆர்வமா மியூஸிக் போட்டுக் கொடுத்துட்டார். உங்க எல்லாரையும் அசரடிப்பான் 'யோஹன்'!'' " என்று தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

எம்ஜிஆர், ரஜினியின் படங்களின் பார்முலாதான் சினிமாவில் எவர்கிரீன் வெற்றி பார்முலா என்றார் நடிகர் விஜய்.

 

நடிகர் விஜய்யின் `வேலாயுதம்' படம் தீபாவளிக்கு ரிலீசாகி ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது. இப்படம் வெற்றி பெற்றதால், அதைப் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ள பிரஸ் மீட் வைத்திருந்தார் நடிகர் விஜய்.

 

நிகழ்ச்சியில் அவர் பேசுகையில், "நான் நடிச்ச 52 படங்களை விட 'வேலாயுதம்' பெரிய ஹிட்டாகியுள்ளது என்கிரார்கள். கேட்க ரொம்ப சந்தோஷமாக இருக்கிறது. இப்படியொரு அருமையான படம் கொடுத்த இயக்குனர் ராஜாவுக்கு நன்றி. தமிழ் சினிமாவில் முக்கியமான இயக்குனராக அவர் வருவார்.

ஜெயம்ரவிக்கும் நான் முக்கியமாக நன்றி சொல்ல வேண்டும். அவரும் இந்த படத்தின் கதை விவாதத்தில் பங்கேற்றார். ராஜாவின் தந்தை எடிட்டர் மோகனும் பல ஆலோசனைகள் சொன்னார்.

 

ஆஸ்கார் ரவிச்சந்திரன் படத்துக்கு தேவையான எல்லா வசதிகளையும் ஏன் எதற்கு என்று கேட்காமல் செய்து கொடுத்தார். விஜய் ஆண்டனி ரீ ரிக்கார்டிங் படத்துக்கு பெரிய பலம். படத்துக்கு பிரிண்ட்கள் அதிகம் போடுறாங்க, தியேட்டர்கள் எண்ணிக்கையும் கூட்டுவதாக செய்திகள் வருகின்றன. இது படம் ஹிட்டானதற்கு அறிகுறி," என்றார் விஜய்.

 

அப்போது ஒரு நிருபர், "உங்கள் படங்களில் எம்ஜிஆர் பாணியில் வந்தது இந்தப் படம்தான் என்பது சரியா?" என்றார்.

 

உடனே விஜய், "எம்.ஜி.ஆர். பார்முலாவில் படம் பண்ண எல்லோரும் ஆசைப்படுவார்கள். அது தவறு அல்ல. எம்.ஜி.ஆர். பாணியில் படம் பண்ணுவது சாதாரணம் அல்ல. அது போல நடிக்க நல்ல கதை அமையணும். அது 'வேலாயுதம்' படத்தில் இருக்கு," என்றார்.

 

தொடர்ந்து, " ஆரம்பத்தில் நீங்கள் ரஜினி பாணியில் நடிப்பதாகச் சொன்னீர்கள். இப்போது எம்ஜிஆர் பாணி என்கிறீர்கள்," என்றனர் நிருபர்கள்.

 

அதற்கு பதிலளித்த விஜய், "எம்ஜிஆர், ரஜினி படங்களின் பார்முலா என்றுமே எவர்கிரீன். நான் ஆரம்பத்திலிருந்தே இதை சரியான வாய்ப்பு கிடைக்கும்போது பயன்படுத்தியுள்ளேன். மறுக்கவில்லை," என்றார்.

 

நெட்டில் விடாதீங்க...

 

மேலும் அவர் கூறுகையில், "கிளைமாக்சில் கூட்டத்தினர் பிடித்து வரும் கொடிகள் எனது மக்கள் இயக்க கொடி அல்ல.

 

இந்தப் படம் தயாரிப்பாளர் ஆஸ்கர் ரவிச்சந்திரனை மகிழ்வித்துள்ளது. நான் இப்போதுதான் அவரைச் சந்தித்துவிட்டு வருகிறேன். ஹேப்பியா சார் என்று கேட்டேன். அவரோ, "கவலையே இல்ல.. படம் சூப்பர் ஹிட். நான் பார்த்துக் கொள்கிறேன்," என்றார். இதைவிட வேறு என்ன வேண்டும்.

 

இண்டர்நெட்டில் வேலாயுதம் படம் வந்ததாக தகவல் வந்தது. அதை தடுக்க எனது இண்டர்நெட் ரசிகர்கள் முயற்சி எடுத்துள்ளனர். புதுப்படங்களை இது போல் இண்டர்நெட்டில் வெளியிடுவதை தவிர்க்க வேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறேன்.

 

நான் ஒரே பாணியில் நடிப்பதாக சொல்வது தவறு. 'காவலன்' படத்தில் என் பாணி இல்லை. சித்திக் வேறு மாதிரி அப்படத்தை எடுத்தார். கதைக்கு என்ன தேவையோ அதை மட்டும் செய்வேன்.

 

அடுத்து ஏ.ஆர்.முருகதாஸ் படத்தில் நடிப்பது குறித்து விரைவில் அறிவிப்பு வரும். யோஹன் அடுத்த வருடம் ஆரம்பமாகும். சீமான் படம் குறித்து பின்னர் சொல்கிறேன்," என்றார்.

 

நிகழ்ச்சியில் பங்கேற்ற இயக்குநர் ராஜா கூறுகையில், வாழ்க்கையில் எனக்கு மிகப் பெரிய திருப்பம் தந்த படம் வேலாயுதம். அதற்கு காரணமான விஜய், ஆஸ்கர் பிலிம்ஸ் ரவிச்சந்திரனுக்கு நன்றி என்றார்.
