Vijay’s dream coming true with Velayudham

 

Vijay's long-time wish is finally coming true with Velayudham. Referred as the biggest-ever film of his career, it marks his debut in the superhero genre movies.

The Kaavalan star claims that every actor dreams to act in superhero films and he is fortunate to enter this format with Velayudham. Vijay promises that the movie is not only high on actions but also offers a brother-sister story at the backdrop. All in all, the movie has all the commercial elements, which will be a treat for the audience.

Vijay will be seen in the role of a milkman-turned-vigilante in Velayudham. While Genelia D'Souza will be enacting the role of a journalist, who is the driving force behind him. Whereas Hansika Motwani as his first love.

Velayudham is directed by Jayam Raja and produced by Aascar Ravichandran. It is hitting the screens on October 26.

Vijay fans demand bigger screens for Velayudham

 

Fans of Ilayathalapathy Vijay has protested against Chennai's Devi Theatre management's decision to allot the smaller screens to Velayudham.

300 Vijay fans holding placards and flags protested peacefully outside Devi Theatre complex on Tuesday morning.

Later they gave a letter to the theatre management that they want to screen Velayudham at one of the bigger screens, either Devi or Devi Paradise.

The bigger screens at the complex Devi and Devi Paradise have already been booked by Udhayanidhi Stalin for his Suriya film 7aum Arivu.

Vijay's 'Velayudham' and Suriya's 'Ezham Arivu' are gonna be the titans clashing in box office for this festive season of Diwali. While the booking plans for both the films are scheduled to open by tomorrow, here is an interesting news from closer sources to 'Velayudham' team.

According to the inside reports, both Jeyam Raja and producer Aascar Ravichandran are planning to release the film a day prior to Diwali, which is on October 25. But till now nothing has been confirmed while the booking plans for Shah Rukh Khan's 'Ra One' has already commenced and is getting sold like hot cakes.

VIJAY SHOOTS FOR VELAYUTHAM SPECIAL

 

 

Velayutham special is getting ready to rock the small screens on Diwali. The shooting for this special program is currently on at the AVM Studios in Chennai. This show will be aired on Jaya TV which is actively promoting the film.

 

The Velayutham special will be a one-hour program and to the surprise of all Vijay fans, the Ilayathalapathy is participating in this show. Along with him, Velayutham's director Jayam Raja, music director Vijay Anthony and heroine Hansika is also shooting for this special show. It's sure going to be one cracker of a Diwali.

Vijay Allows Udhay While Udhay Didn’t

The trailer of Udhayanidhi Stalin's debut film as hero, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, will be screened during the interval of Velayutham. Udhayanidhi Stalin sought the permission of Aascar Ravichandran to release the trailer along with Velayutham. Aascar Ravichandran has allowed the screening of the trailer of OKOK with Velayutham.

The producer had no qualms or any issues about allowing him to screen the trailer of Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. It could be remembered that Vijay's Kaavalan faced many troubles for its release during the last DMK regime in which it was alleged that Udhayanidhi Stalin played an important part behind it.

The trailer of Oru Kal Oru Kannadi will be released with both 7aum Arivu and Velayutham – the two straight Tamil films releasing for Diwali 2011. So, Udhayanidhi Stalin will get a lot of eyeballs during the release of the films of the two best heroes.

Vijay Promotes Velayudham

 

 

Ilayathalapathy Vijay had great moments in Bangalore trip at the launch of the official trailer of his next film 'Velayudham' starring Genelia and Hansika Motwani, set for Diwali release.

Looking at the huge crowd Vijay said, "He had been to Bangalore many times, also for the launch of Kannada movie 'Jogayya' which was Mr.ShivrajKumar's 100th film. He also said that this was a great moment and thanked all his fans for the tremendous support given to him."

The top star also added that Velayudham is very special to him. The songs were excellent in its choreography and the dialogues too were attractive. He further stated that film is packed with all the commercial elements and is sure to turn out as a blockbuster at the box-office.

Tamil superstar Ilayathalapathy Vijay has termed his upcoming release "Velayutham" a special film of his career.

Addressing thousands of his fans Saturday at the city's Poornima Theatre, where two trailers of the film were screened, Vijay said: "'Velayutham' is a special film for me. I have acted in many films which have been filled with commercial elements. You have liked my films for their quality in picturisation of songs and fights. But 'Velayutham' is one film which is focused on a issue besides being packaged with lot of commercial elements."

 

"You have already given a thumbs up for the audio of the film. I hope you would like the film also," he said amid cheers.

 

Slated for a Diwali release, "Velayutham" is produced by Aaskar Ravichandran and directed by M. Raja. The film also stars Genelia D'Souza and Hansika.

Vijay was in the city to inaugurate a store of Jos Alukkas Jewellery, of which he is the brand ambassador.

 

"I have come here many times, including during the launch of Kannada film 'Jogayya', which was my friend Shivaraj Kumar's hundredth film. I am very fond of my fans in Karnataka," said Vijay.

"Velayutham" is being released along with actor Surya's "7 Aam Arivu", helmed by "Ghajini" director Murugadoss. These two major Tamil films have to contend with a big competitor in the form of Shah Rukh Khan's "Ra.One", the costliest film to be ever made in the country.

 

Murugadoss had also directed the Hindi version of "Ghajini" with Aamir Khan in the lead, which had become a sensational hit. Now, the news is that Bollywood baadshah Shah Rukh too is interested in working with the director.

Vijay fans protested against the Devi Cinemas' management as Devi Cinemas will not be screening Velayudham in the bigger screens Devi or Devi Paradise. They've also written a leter to the management which is signed by 2000 fans.It is worth mentioning that other diwali release 7aam Arivu Starring Surya is scheduled to be screened in the two screens that are requested by Vijay fans.

Udhayanidhi gets Velayutham!

 

Producer Udhayanidhi Stalin had said earlier that the trailer of Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, in which he is making his debut as hero, will be released along with 7aum Arivu. Incidentally, 7aum Arivu happens to be his production venture.

The latest is that OK OK's trailer will be released along with Velayutham too. Since Velayutham and 7aum Arivu are to be released simultaneously, Udhayanihi has made the necessary arrangement.

Udhayanidhi has said that the producer of Velayutham, Aascar Ravichandran has consented to screen the trailer and he thanked him for it.

Velayutham is expected to have a grand opening as it stars Vijay in the lead role with Hansika and Genelia sharing the screen space with him.
