Actor Vijay speaks about Nanban

 

Vijay while speaking to the media about Nanban said, "I know Shankar sir for a long time because he was an assistant to my father. I use to speak to him from time to time. But the Shankar today is totally different.

The way he plans each frame of the film is simply superb. It is very easy to act in Shankar's sir film because he himself will act and show us. Today he is one of the best directors in India. This name did not come with that ease.

Even I can say that he is the Indian Steven Spielberg. I should have acted in his film very earlier. But due to various reasons it was getting postponed. Now it has worked out. The Hindi film Three Idiots enthralled the audience throughout India without any barrier to the language.

Shankar sir has still modified it and has made it more stunning. Many are asking me that whether Jeeva and Srikanth have become my close friends. Jeeva is a jolly guy. He will be joking till he goes for the take. There will be happiness in the spot if Jeeva is there. Srikanth was already my friend. Now he has become closer. We were talking lots with Sathyaraj sir. The way we moved in the sets can be clearly seen in the film itself. I liked acting in a good story with such a team. Now the shooting is over and I am missing them very much."

Vijay is super confident about his upcoming film 'Velayudham' in spite of having a strong competition with Suriya's 'Ezham Arivu'. The makers of 'Velayudham' have precisely mentioned that both the films are good and on the grounds of different genre.

The distributors and theatre owners have mentioned that the climax of Vijay's 'Velayudham' is something unforeseen and one of the best climax scenes of Tamil films.

The film has already occupied the major screens of Tamil Nadu and is opening in around 150 theatres of Kerala and 100 theatres of Karnataka. The bookings for the film across UK and USA are happening well.

Vijay's most daring stunts till date in 'Velayudham'

 

 

Ilayathalapathy Vijay's fans are waiting with baited breadth for the release of their thalaivar's 'Velayudham'. Reported to be the costliest ever Vijay starrer, the movie produced by Aascar Ravichandran has few never seen before high-octane stunt sequences choreographed by Hollywood stunt master Tom Delmar.

Tom has worked in some of the Hollywood action films like 'Aliens', 'Snatch' and '102 Dalmatians' among others. The highlight includes a hair rising on-top of the train action block. Apart from which, Vijay in an interview with IG recently expressed about another power-packed stunt, a fight shot inside the Chennai harbor.

Now the hot news is that Vijay has performed some of the highly risky stunts without a body double! The train fight was shot for 11 days in Vizag with Vijay taking on the baddie Abhimanyu Singh of 'Rakta Charitra' fame who is making his Tamil debut.

Tom who was literally astonished with the way Vijay works says, "His energy levels are very high. Some of the fight scenes designed was very tough and dangerous and I and director Raja insisted that we use a substitute. But Vijay was very adamant that he would do it by himself and used to rehearse for hours together. He is so dedicated that he wouldn't mind performing more takes till he gets perfection".

With this film turning out to be a hit, there is a stiff competition to remake it in Tamil. Dookudu's hero Mahesh Babu is reported to prefer Vijay for this remake. The star apparently had spoken to Vijay and had pointed out that he would be more suitable for the Tamil version. Vijay is also said to be contemplating on this remake because his earlier remakes like Pokkiri and Ghilli were a hit.

Vijay wishes to ’7am Arivu’

 

Only recently Udhaynidhi Stalin, the producer of '7aum Arivu', said he would like to watch 'Velayudham' on the first day, first show of its release and expressed that the Vijay starrer should emerge successful in the box-office.

And now, Vijay has wished 'all the best' to the cast and crew of '7aum Arivu', and said he would like to see the Suriya-starrer tasting a big success. "Both of us (Vijay and Suriya) sincerely hope that both Velayudham and 7aum Arivu should become hits. My wishes to the unit members of these two films."

Suriya and Vijay share a close friendship for more than a decade and they had acted together in two films- 'Nerukku Ner' and 'Friends'. Udhaynidhi, one of the top producers in Tamil cinema now, started off his Kollywood career by producing Vijay-starrer 'Kuruvi' in mid-2008.

And interestingly, AR Murugadoss, whose '7aum Arivu' is clashing with Vijay's 'Velayudham' this Diwali will soon start a film that would star the Ilayathalapathy in the lead role. "I am gearing up to work with Murugadoss after finishing work on Nanban and Yohan Adhyayam Ondru. I am thrilled about it," signs off Vijay.

‘Velayudham’ releasing big, over 820 prints!

 

'Velayudham', the most awaited flick of Ilayathalapathy Vijay is hitting worldwide cinema halls on this Diwali with ' hold your breadth – over 820 screens!

Produced by Aascar Ravichandran, Vijay has two gorgeous lead ladies – Hansika and Genelia. Directed by Jayam Raja who is known for commercial dramas that cater to family audiences, according to its producer, the movie will be released with record number of prints in Kerala and Karnataka. It may be mentioned that Vijay has a huge fan following in the God's Own Country as well as in Karnataka.

"Velayudham is screened in more than 120 theaters in Kerala and roughly about 100 theatres in Karnataka", says Ravichandran.

"Velayudham focuses on important social issues besides being packaged with the signature style of mass masala elements intact which is usually associated with a Vijay film", says an inside source.

Aascar Ravi also clarified that 'Velayudham' will be releasing in as many as 40 theaters in the city ruling out the rumour that it is screened in less number of screens.
